XTR™

Our eXcellent Three-dimensional Reticulation (XTR™) Technology is a proprietary innovation in hyaluronic acid (HA) filler formulation, designed to achieve effective, stable, long-lasting and well tolerated HA fillers.

 

It is a 3 step manufacturing process that ensures excellent product quality and purity.

  • The pretreatment breaks the long molecular chains of hyaluronic acid into two different and specific molecular weight ranges. 
  • Cross linking is the next step. This means generating a stable molecular matrix through chemical covalent bonds, starting from the HA chains obtained into step 1. This process turns the HA from liquid form into the thicker gels that we use in Definisse™ fillers. 
  • Following cross linking comes a highly efficient purification process. This removes any ‘loose’ chain and any residual by-products from the cross linking. It means our HA fillers have a very high level of purity and are therefore very well tolerated

WHY IS CROSS LINKING SO IMPORTANT? WHY DOES IT MAKE OUR FILLERS PROGRESSIVE?

An efficient cross-linking process ensures gel stability and uniformity, especially important if subjected to deformation or internal friction once injected into the tissues. Our gels always preserve their shape thanks to their elasticity.


It also means the gel is more resistant to being broken down by our degradative enzymes - so it offers a long duration and performance. Best of all, our XTR™ fillers have been shown to have a balance of elasticity and flexibility that maintains the shape and structure but allows natural movement, for subtle beautification.


Each filler in the range is specifically cross linked to be designed for use in different areas of the face. 


We are able to produce Definisse™ core filler which has the robustness to enable volumising and sculpted contouring, Definisse™ restore filler which has a medium viscosity and is therefore truly adaptable and able to provide rejuvenation of multiple areas of the face - and then there’s Definisse™ touch filler - the softest filler, for delicate areas such as the lips.

P(LA-CL) THREADS

There are several types of polymer threads used in both suspension threads and revitalising threads, but none perform as well as P(LA-CL) (Poly (L-Lactide-co-ε-caprolactone).

THIS MATERIAL GUARANTEES EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE FROM OUR THREADS

P(LA-CL) is the newest technology in threads. It is durable (lasting up to 18 months1) and biocompatible but most importantly exhibits a unique balance of elasticity and plasticity -  meaning it has unrivaled repositioning and shaping capabilities. It is flexible enough to allow natural movement and not snap yet it’s plasticity means it is strong enough to hold and lift effectively.

Moreover, DefinisseTM 3D lift threads are uniquely structured with fine barbules that are designed not to weaken the thread whilst creating enough grip to effectively lift tissue. This means they enjoy a tensile strength that outstrips competitor threads in clinical tests. The competitor thread was only able to tolerate a test using 3N load, whereas DefinisseTM thread withstood a 4N load.

DEFINISSE™ REVITALISE THREADS ARE THE ONLY REVITALISING THREADS USING P(LA-CL)

Not only does P(LA-CL) carry all the benefits of longevity and adaptability - and enjoy best in class proof of performance through its use in DefinisseTM 3D lift threads -  but it is the only thread material to regenerate Collagen Type 1 and Type 3 - PDO and PLLA threads only stimulate Type 1.
